Overview

Needs Attention for Jira gives Jira Cloud administrators a focused review workspace. It identifies configuration items that may need attention and explains why each item was flagged.

The app does not automatically delete, archive, or modify Jira resources. Administrators remain in control of every decision.

Getting started

  1. Install Needs Attention for Jira from the Atlassian Marketplace.
  2. Open Apps > Needs Attention in Jira.
  3. From the Overview page, click Run Scan to analyze your Jira configuration.
  4. Select a resource type such as Projects, Custom Fields, Filters, or Dashboards.
  5. Review the evidence and details for each item before taking action.

The initial scan may take longer depending on the size of your Jira site.

Review workflow

1. Start from Overview

Overview summarizes Projects, Custom Fields, Filters, and Dashboards that need review.

2. Open a review category

Each category provides a prioritized list.

3. Inspect evidence

Evidence explains why the item was flagged. Details provide additional Jira context.

4. Continue in Jira

Use the action button to open the related Jira configuration page. The app does not make the change for you.

Scan history

Each manual scan creates a snapshot of the current review result.

  • New: newly detected
  • Resolved: no longer detected
  • Changed: evidence or priority changed
  • Unchanged: remains the same

Snooze

Snooze temporarily removes an item from the active review list for 30, 60, or 90 days. Changes are reflected after the next scan.

Data and security

  • Built on Atlassian Forge
  • No external Bomray Lab application server
  • No automatic deletion or configuration modification
  • History and preferences use Atlassian-hosted Forge storage

FAQ

Does the app automatically delete or archive anything?

No. It only identifies items for review and provides supporting evidence.

When does Jira data get scanned?

A fresh scan runs when an administrator selects Run Scan.

Can I change the review criteria?

Yes. Available thresholds and preferences can be managed from Settings.
